Genelia is averse to politics, but when it comes to helping out friends like Riteish Deshmukh, she doesn’t mind chipping in. This election season a lot of film stars added glam quotient to the mundane speeches of our politicians. Salman did it for both the rival parties, Ayesha Takia campaigned for her father-in-law, but Genelia had no such obligations or motivations. When she was asked by a Congress party leader in Mumbai to campaign for him, she flatly refused.The candidate in need of a fresh face to woo young voters thought Genelia with her newfound popularity amongst youngsters would be ideal. He was quite dismayed when she refused. But Riteish came to his rescue. He rang up his “good friend” Genelia and asked her to campaign for the Congressman, according to our sources. And Genelia this time readily agreed.
