The audio launch of Ananthapuram 1980, the dubbed version of writer-director-actor M. Sasikumar's path-breaking Tamil film Subramaniapuram (also spelt as Subramaniyapuram), was launched at Prasad Labs, Hyderabad.Pokuri Babu Rao released the audio cassette and presented the first to Madala Ravi. Actress Kajal Agarwal launched the audio CD and gave it to senior director Bheemineni Srinivasa Rao.Swathi of Ashta Chamma fame, Sasi Kumar, Shashank Vennelakanti, Pokuri Babu Rao, Madala Ravi, Veera Shankar, Paras Jain, M. Raghunath and Narendra attended the function. James Vasanth has composed the tunes for lyrics penned by Vennelakanti. Dialogues are by Shashank Vennelakanti. Ananthapuram 1980, produced by M. Ranganath under Simhapuri Talkies banner, will hit screens on May 1.Producer M. Ranganath said, “Subramaniapuram was a big hit in Tamil and it was also released in Kerala and made good collections. I hope the audio and the movie will be good hit in Telugu also.” The film, set in the 1980’s, showcases how unemployed youths are being exploited by politicians and the aftermath of these exploitations
