Feroz Khan's distraught youngest brother, Akbar Khan, says they had been preparing themselves for Feroz's death. "For three months now, we've been watching him slowly sink. We prayed to either relieve him from pain, or life."The entire family was gathered in Bangalore for Feroz Khan's funeral, which took place on Monday at 5 p.m. The funeral procession left at around 2 p.m. from Feroz's farmhouse after the afternoon prayers."The entire family was here towards his end, literally feeding him out of our hands," says the grief-stricken sibling. "And he enjoyed his glass of wine in the evenings with us till the end. He was a very loving friend and bhai."Said Akbar, "We buried him next to our mother. It's unfortunate that we couldn't bring him back to Mumbai for so many of his friends and well-wishers to see him for the last time. But his last wish was to lie eternally next to our mother in our home town near Bangalore. And we had to fulfill that wish."Restraining his grief, the youngest Khan sibling says, "He was much loved by all his friends and colleagues. Contrary to his flamboyant image, he was a very gentle sensitive soul. Even in his frail condition towards the end, he'd get up from his chair to greet each one of us in the family, no matter how old or young. He was a friend first, then a father-figure.""He was fearless even when faced with death," says Akbar. "He was the apple of our mother's eyes. All of us, five brothers and two sisters, looked up to him. We've lost a father-figure. He's relieved of his pain. But he was fearless till the end. He didn't even fear death. He'd always be with us."

It was a film that came as a breath of fresh air to all the Tamil film fans who have been continuously disappointed with the incessant new comers and that of other well-known artistes. The film came with a neat screenplay and touch that doesn't give any hint that this is his first film as a full-fledged director, who has been an assistant to director Bala. Chat with Director Ameer of Tamil Movie 'Mounam Pesiyadhey' on Sat Dec 28th '02 between 5 & 6 pm IST at Chennai goes great.

Anushka Sharma started her career as a young girl romancing the much older Shah Rukh Khan. And South actress Asin who debuted at the same time opposite Aamir Khan walked away with most of the limelight. But the girl is actually all set to bounce back and this time with someone who’s closer to her age -Shahid Kapur. And yes, she’s working with her mentors- Yash Raj films all over again. The buzz is that Anushka and Shahid will be paired opposite each other in a film to be directed by actor Parmeet Sethi who worked with Yash Raj years before in the hit ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’. Apparently Aditya Chopra approved of the idea while shooting for ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’.According to reports Parmeet has also roped in stand-up comedian Veer Das and Indian Idol contestant and host Meiyang Chang as lead actors of the film which will tell the story of four people and how they evolve in life.Parmeet wasn’t too forthcoming and just revealed: “It’s true that I am planning to make this film but I will speak in depth when I get a go-ahead from the production house (Yash Raj).”Maybe he’s being superstitious about things and thinks that revealing will make it difficult for the film. Yash Raj too propagates such a strategy.
The movie has already been tagged as an ‘unconventional film’. Well, that’s a cliché statement. We’ll only know when the film finally releases!
Randeep Hooda Wins Silver Medal At Prestigious The Delhi Horse Show
Posted On 9:19 AM by Movies | 0 comments
Randeep Hooda has taken a sabbatical from acting to focus on his other passion, horses. And the passion has paid off.Last week at the prestigious Delhi Horse Show Randeep and his two horses Ranji and Johnny Walker won a silver medal in the national dressage category which is considered by equestrians to be the toughest category in the competition. No individual from any section of the Indian film industry has won a medal at the Delhi Horse Show.Trying hard to be modest about it , Randeep says, “The Delhi Horse Show is the toughest because I had to compete against horse riders who were Arjun and Padma Shri winers. It’s normally impossible for a non-specialized rider to win at this venue. That I managed to win a silver mdedal and that too in the toughest category proves that horse riding is fast catching up my acting as my predominant passion.”
The presage requires the connectivity between the rider and his horse to be displayed in the subtlest of ways.Explains Randeep, “You can’t make ‘horse noises’ to the horse nor spur it on with hands legs or a stick. It’s entirely to do with your communication level almost elevated to a telepathic link , between the horse and the rider.”Randeep won the prestigious silver medal from out of a 170 entries in Delhi. Full credit goes to my horses Ranji and Johnny Walker. I owned 8 horses. But I gave 2 away to to a couple of new horse learners. I love my horses.”Now the horse-riding season is over. And Randeep wants to get back to serious acting. “But horse riding will always be special. I think I’m the only professional horse rider from the movie industry. Strangely I’ve seen no men from the industry at equestrian events. Though I’ve seen some ladies like Diya Mirza and Lara Dutta at the race course.Women by the way, make superior horse riders.”
When Bollywood actresses are often accompanied by their mothers on the sets our Ghajini actress Asin is often always accompanied by her father on the sets of the film. Asin's father Joseph Thottumkal better known as JT is an exception. He tags along wherever the Ghajini actress goes, including award functions and product launches. Though JT was managing his own business, as soon as his daughter shot to stardom, he decided to let go of his entrepreneurship to manage his daughter's work.
He even accompanies her to all her foreign shoots and the latest is that he has also shifted based to Mumbai to be with her. Sources reveals that now when Asin is shooting for her forthcoming venture Vipul Shah’s London Dreams with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan, JT was always around advising his daughter. This did not go down too well with Salman and he was often irked by the father’s interference. Yet Salman tried being courteous to him.” There was a buzz that Salman has taken a liking to his London Dreams co-star and has been showering her with gifts. Naturally since Asin’s father is constantly by his daughter’s side Salman must be finding it a little difficult to be friendly to her.

Most big Bollywood stars are heading to South Africa and not different cities of India like last year, for the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches. So top names like Shah Rukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Preity Zinta, Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan would be gracing the front benches there rather than taking the heat and pollution in India for the sake of work.Preity, Shah Rukh and Shilpa are there to support and cheer for their respective teams. In the 2008 bidding wars, Shah Rukh had bagged the Kolkata team for a huge amount of $75.9 million (approx Rs.296 crores), along with Juhi Chawla and her husband Jai Mehta.Preity Zinta along with her man Ness Wadia became proud owners of the Mohali team, and Shilpa Shetty owns the winning team of 2008, Rajasthan Royals along with hr beau Raj Kundra.Akshay is in South Africa for work – he’s shooting for his program ‘Fear Factor II’. Hrithik was recently in the country for a TV commercial shoot is mixing business with pleasure. So South Africa is getting coloured with the hues of B-Town. Fans and audiences really do have some real entertainment to look forward to.
It’s touted as the biggest hit in the history of Telugu cinema. And now Arundhati is all set to be remade into Hindi. Many producers including Ghajini’s Madhu Mantena were vying for the Hindi remake rights. But the producer of the Telugu producer M. Shyam Prasad Reddy has decided to remake the film in Hindi.
Sonu Sood who played the main antagonist in the Telugu film and is all set to encore the same part in Hindi , confirms these developments.Confirming these developments Sood says, “I’m excited because we all worked very hard on making the Telugu original something special. Lots of producers wanted to remake it in Hindi. But now the original producer has decided to go for it.The Hindi Arundhati will be far more expensive and polished. We start shooting in June. ”
Sood has already started preparing for the part . “The Hindi version will have to be severely revised.”The remakes expert Priyadarshan was approached to direct Arundhati in Hindi. Apparently Priyan has no time at such short notice.
“And the original director Kodi Ramkrishna can’t understand Hindi. So we’re probably going with a guy named Rahul who did all the special effects in Tamil.”
And now for the most crucial question. Who plays the central role of Arundhati in this woman-dominated film? Though no one is willing to commit to any name sources reveal that the makers of Arundhati were very keen to sign Anushka Sharma who starred with Shah Rukh Khan in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.Says the source, “They needed someone strong robust young and determined and very North Indian as the lead in Hindi. They really wanted Anushka Sharma . She was perfect. But the producer was under the impression that she’s under contract with Yashraj Films and unable to do any outside film. Now they might settle for the actress who played the lead in the Telugu Arundhati in Hindi. Coincidentally her name too is Anushka.”Surprisingly Arjan(Fashion) Bajwa who played the romantic lead in Arundhati is no part of the Hindi remake. When questioned Arjan says, “They haven’t asked me. Even if they had I wouldn’t do it. Have you seen what has been done to my role in the Telugu film?”
Some things are just not meant to be.
Shah Rukh and Ash sizzled on screen as a twin brother-sister jodi in ‘Josh’.Then their pairing was accepted in Aditya Chopra’s ‘Mohabbatein’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Devdas’ too. They really had good chemistry. But that was that. They were not supposed to act together after that.It all started when Ash’s ex boyfriend barged into the sets of ‘Chalte Chalte’ and Ash ended up being chucked out in favor of Rani Mukerji.Ash never warmed up to SRK and Rani after that. Things soured badly between Sallu and her too.She moved on happily with the Bachchans, some international films and let her chemistry work better with Hrithik Roshan.Recently Mani Ratnam wanted to cast Shahrukh in the lead role opposite Ash in his latest bilingual film ‘Ravana’ which he’s working on currently. Now after things didn’t work out for him in Raju Hirani’s ‘3 Idiots’ and Shankar’s ‘Robot’, he seemed to have some free time.Mani had then spoken to him about ‘Ravana’ and the superstar expressed interest in the project. He wanted a good film in his kitty and didn’t care so much about the fact that Ash was the leading lady. But before Mani could come to Mumbai and give him a detailed script narration, Aditya Chopra approached SRK for his comeback film ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’.And the actor gave his dates to his dear friend.Mani didn’t want to delay the film and he took Abhishek Bachchan as the film’s male lead instead of SRK.So SRK and Ash lost a chance to work together again.
Not that they mind, but maybe their pairing would have worked wonders for their careers. And maybe it’s a chance lost!
Aamir Khan’s fan club has just got itself another member.
At the meeting of the United Producers & Distributors Association(UPDA) Vashu Bhagnani’s hands and feet went cold with nervousness and pleasure when Aamir Khan walked up to him and assured the worried producer that his son’s debut film Kal Kisne Dekha will get a royal release in single theatres even if the multiplex theatres remain unavailable.Says the still-stunned Vashu, “It was not just the reassurance that Aamir gave me. It was his words. Aamir said, ‘Vashuji, we’ll make sure that the mutiplex audiences will head towards single theatres to see your son’s film. I will personally clean the w.c if we have to. But don’t worry, your film will get the proper release.’ I was so stunned by his words, so moved, I couldn’t move. I couldn’t even say thankyou. It seemed like such a small and frivolous gesture to repay him for his oberwhelming words. This was Aamir Khan, the super-actor and producer showing so much concern for my son’s film. Later Shah Rukh too came up to me and said, ‘We’re with you.Don’t worry.’ I completely forgot my worries about my film.I leave it to Aamir, Shah Rukh and the others.I’ll do whatever they decide.”Vashu now looks at the multiplex crisis as a blessing in disguise. “For so long we’ve taken the single theatres for granted only because we feel the audiences in multiplexes matter more. Wrong! The real masses , people with hard-earned money who actually go to our films to have a good time, are still in the single-theatre groove. Until recently a place like Patna had no multiplex theatre. Some of my biggest hits have been at a time when there were no multiplexes.”Vashu says it’s unlikely he can release his son’s debut film Kal Kisne Dekha on May 1, as per schedule. “But as soon as I get a green signal from Aamir and Shah Rukh I’ll release the film in single theatres.”
Kangana is all charged up with her role in Milan Lutharia’s Once Upon A Life Time. The film is based on the then don of the city Haji Mastan whose role is being essayed by Ajay Devgan. While Kangana plays his love interest in the film. Yesteryear actress Sona who then resembled late actress Madhubala was the don’s love interest.Kangana will be playing Sona’s role in the film. There was a buzz that Kangana decided to meet the the yesteryear actress before taking on the role and she wanted to know the details and nuances of that character. Sources inform that when Kangana finally met her, Sona advised Kangana to watch the films of the 70’s and the 80’s. When actresses like Sharmila Tagore, Hema Malini, Asha Parekh were at the top. Sona also advised her to learn how these actresses dressed and carried themselves. The film explores the growth of underworld in the city, in the 70s and the 80s. The film will also star Emraan Hashmi and Prachi Desai and is expected to go on floors in May. Most of the film will be shot in the city itself, except for a few sequences which will be shot in Dubai and Bangkok. This is not the first that Kangana is playing the role of a gangsters moll. She played a similar role in Mahesh Bhatt’s Gangster. The actress is looking forward to Kites with Hrithik Roshan and Samir Karnik's Yeh Vaada Raha opposite Bobby Deol.
There was a sudden panic among the myriad friends and well-wishers of the movie-making maverick Mani Ratnam when on Tuesday he was admitted into the Apollo hospital in Chennai.Since Mani has a history of heart ailment, the worst was naturally ,or not so unnaturally , presumed. However it seems the news from Chennai is heartening and very very encouraging. So says the poetic genius Gulzar who , as luck would have it, was in Chennai working on a song for Mani Ratnam’s Raavan with Mani and composer A R Rahman when Mani’s health scare occurred.Filmmaker Shaad Ali who is assisting Mani on Raavan, was also present at the recording on Tuesday in Chennai.Mani was revved up ignited and energetic as Gulzar Saab and Rahman argued and collaborated over the perfect words for the tune.says Gulzar Saab, “Mani complained of uneasiness. We presumed it to be nothing more than creative anxiety. We all get restless and nervous when we are working intensely an a project. We had no clue it was a health issue.”However after a while fidgety and restless Mani sneaked out of the recording, left alone from the studio and checked himself quietly into the Apollo hospital. That, according to Mani’s close friends, is the filmmaker’s style. He never draws attention to himself.Normally no matter how private a person he would immediately ask someone to accompany him to a doctor if there was a health alarmThe super-reclusive Mani actually went all alone to Appolo.Says Gulzar Saab, “Yes, Mani just left the venue of the recording and quietly got himself admitted into hospital.Thankfully it was nothing serious at all. Though I wasn’t allowed to visit him in hospital Shaad did visit him on Wednesday . Mani was just fine laughing, joking and talking nineteen to the dozen. We’re all very much relieved and happy. And on to top it all, the song that we were recording when Mani had a health scare has turned out beautifully. It’s a proud moment. To my relief I’m told Mani is well enough to be out of hospital very soon.”Sources say the film’s next schedule of Raavan on 20 April might be delayed by a few days. But Mani, known to be a certifiable workaholic is expected to be back to the gruelling outdoor schedule in Kerala as soon as the doctors allow him to.“He’s already talking about keeping his date with his next schedule. It seems the relationship between Bollywood's young heart throbs couple is going through tough times. But being the good actors that they are, they are not making it visible on their cute faces. We are talking about Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.
A close pal of the couple reveals, "Last week Deepika was to join Ranbir for going to Dostana director Tarun Mansukhani's birthday party at late night. Since she got stuck due to her work commitments (shooting of Excel Entertainment's Kartik Calling Kartik), Ranbir told her he would go alone to the party. But despite telling her so, he didn't go their. Instead he chose to attend another party that had his debut film Saawariya heroine Sonam Kapoor and her good friend Kunal Kapoor. He didn't tell this to Deepika who was well under the impression for days that he was at Tarun's party. The birthday party saw new love birds Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra making and entry and exit together publicly for the first time. John Abraham and Bipasha Basu too came in for the bash. When Deepika came to know about Ranbir's lie, it is learnt that she lambasted him over the phone while he kept giving her excuses such as how it was all a last minute change in his plan etc."Now when we encountered Deepika at the latest Filmfare magazine issue launch and asked her about any strains in relationship happening between her and Ranbir, she questioned us back with a smile, "Do I appear hassled to you?"Well certainly not Deepika but it is also true that you are a very fine actress. Just days back, Ranbir's sister Riddhima told to a news channel journo on TV that she doesn't think Deepika is Ranbir's girlfriend and that she knows Deepika only as one of his good friends. With news of Ranbir striking great rapport on and off the sets with his Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani co-star Katrina Kaif, we wont be left wondering when Deepika also starts losing sleep just like Salman Khan is over his partner.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan might be all of 35 and is losing out on endorsement deals and positions to the likes of Kareena Kapoor and plastic actress gone lucky, Katrina Kaif, but she still is going strong in more ways that one.Not just Ash, her contemporaries like Sushmita Sen, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta and Kajol too have been replaced by the likes of Kat, Bebo, Deepika Padukone, even Sonam Kapoor and Genelia D’Souza. But Ash is doing better than her contemporaries. She may not be the face of Coca-Cola and Nakshatra diamond jewellery in India, but she still has successful and long-standing international endorsements. She has completed nearly a decade of endorsing Swiss luxury watch brand Longines, international soap Lux and is the brand ambassador of global haircare brand L'Oreal since 2003.And unlike Shilpa Shetty and Preity Zinta who have moved on to businesses like IPL with rich boyfriends, Ash still has some good movies like Maniratnam’s ‘Raavan’, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next with Hrithik Roshan, Vipul Shah’s ‘Action Replay’ with Akshay Kumar and a movie with Excel entertainment, probably one with Rajiv Menon as well. Hollywood top star Will Smith is still willing to work with her. That very well makes clear the fact that the dame is here to stay put in the glitzy world of showbiz for a few more years. The Kats, Bebos and Dipsys of the world be damned.
Since ‘Big Brother’ a little more than two years ago, Shilpa Shetty has gone luckier with each passing day.The fame in the UK lead to the launch of her perfume, her production house. Especially meeting millionaire Raj Kundra has changed loads of things for her. Lucky girl this one. She’s the proud owner of an IPL team now and is enjoying the attention showered on her, is having a gala time cheering for her team with Raj. She even met Matt Damon recently. They are so immersed in work and entertainment that they are not willing to discuss marriage which too is likely to happen soon though. As of now she’s set to get a sports car from Raj which reportedly has been an obsession for her apart from her current guy and films. Now Raj is an understanding boyfriend who knows about her likes and dislikes. He’s passionate and has an idea about cars as well. And he’s gifting her a Lamborghini, a super-luxurious sexy sports car, no less.Kundra said, "I had a Lamborghini in London and Shilpa used to drive that car a lot. Among all luxury cars, Lamborghini is her favorite. She loves fast cars and fast drives. She is so fond of this car that I have to buy one in India for her."This one sure is one lucky gal. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, fast cars too are a girl’s best friend What more Shilpa?
Everybody wants to go international now.If ‘Slum Dog Millionaire’ made by a Britisher who has little idea about Mumbai get so much attention, why can’t every Tom, Dick and Harry try too?Now Sajid Nadiadwala has always seemed like a producer with money but with much less creativity. But he could rope in some Hollywood stars for his movie like Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Superman Brandon Routh alongside the lead pair of Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor as well as Amrita Arora And now he’s planning to take the movie to Cannes as well. The movie will be dubbed in English for the event. This year’s festival which like other years will have producers and distributors from all over the world meeting up to discuss projects and to strike deal takes place from the 14-25 May and the President of the Jury will be French actress Isabelle Huppert.Kareena Kapoor appears in a bikini again after the super flop ‘Tashan’ last year( hope it doesn’t meet with the same fate!) She’s said: “It's a film which is full of glamour,” she says, “It has all the elements of a commercial film. You have exciting moments, lot of glitz and glamour and a whole lot of stunning locations to enjoy. I am quite excited about this film because I have an entirely new look in it.”The hype is there in the country too. A 2-crores promotional video is also being made with Akshay and Sylvester and a Bihar entrepreneur is offering 1 crore alone for the distribution rights in that region.
Let's wait and watch to see if it's an all hype -no show thing or much more.
A source revealed, "Very recently a handicapped lady sent a letter to Salman Khan's address wanting help. She didn't want money but a laptop so that she could use it for doing her work and earn a livelihood. So touched was Salman by her genuine plea that he personally picked up the best quality laptop from the market for her got it delivered to her. The lady since then can't stop saying thanks to Salman. Salman meanwhile choses to stay quiet about his good Samaritan act.
Neeraj Pandey feels it’s time to move on from A Wednesday.
He’s next putting finishing touches to a collection of short stories. “That’s taken more time than I thought.”
Though a screenwriter it comes as news to know Neeraj is a litterateur. “I’ve been writing these stories for a while. Some of them were written before A Wednesday , and some after. But they all show the romantic side of me, something that people haven’t seen in my film. One or two do touch on terrorism. ”
The stories are in English. “Writing for a book is a different discipline from writing screenplay.”
Meanwhile UTV has sold the rights of Neeraj’s A Wednesday to Kamal Haasan for a Tamil film. “It can’t be helped,” says Neeraj. “The legal aspect of it is too complicated. I do have a stake in the commerce of the remake, but not the creativity. I can’t stop Wednesday from being remade in any language. At least it’s gone into good hands.” The Tamil version already has one patron.Says Neeraj, “I’d love to see what Kamal Haasan does with A Wednesday. I read Naseeruddin Shah’s comments wondering if Kamal Haasan would be playing more than one role.I’d love to see what Kamal Haasan does with Wednesday. In any case I think it’s time for us to move on from A Wednesday.I’m working on another movie idea.”
Julian Sands is known for his 1989 cult film Warlock and his recent appearance in the popular American series – 24. He is now going to be seen next in IFC and Take one Productions’ The Bollywood Hero which is a 3 part comedy series. The series also stars Neha Dhupia, Rachna Shah and Chris Catan.
We caught up with Julian when he was recently in Mumbai to shoot for the series. Julian told us, “It is really funny, crazy and romantic to explore the Bollywood industry. I had a very happy time shooting here.” He further added, “Not many are aware that was not my first brush with Bollywood. Some years back I had worked in Esmayeel Shroff’s Bombay Talkies.”
Telling us further about his Mumbai experience, Julian said, “I visited the museums and found the city to be a melting pot of human experience. The city has every aspect of human condition and is a celebration of colour, smells and energy which is so intense and exciting. I have also traveled through the local trains and that was one amaxing experience.”
His 2 part comic series revolves around Kattan who is tired of being rejected as leading-man material in Hollywood, he burns his professional bridges in L.A. and ventures to India where he's been promised a starring role in a Bollywood film. While in India, he encounters cultural differences and a system that, much to his shock, is even more severe than what he faced in Hollywood. About the series he revealed it is a film within a film “Neha Dhupia plays my love interest in the film. It is a spoof on Bollywood.”
About what is next on his plate he revealed, “I would love to work in a purely Indian film. But now I will be going back to L.A and by the end of April, I will start shooting for Charles Darwin’s In the Summer which is being directed by a first time director.”
I just cannot stand men who pedicure and manicure – Neha Dhupia
Posted On 8:13 AM by Movies | 0 comments
Q. Would your man belong to Bollywood?
A. Definitely not. He wouldn’t be from the (film) industry.
Q. Why?
A. Very simple. I don’t have a liking for industry men much. Secondly, I would not like to discuss films after coming back home from work.
Q. Would he be a metrosexual man?
A. No way! I detest metrosexual men right from my childhood.
Q. Reason?
A. Because, I just cannot stand men who pedicure and manicure. I remember telling my father why do these men not leave pedicure and manicure to women.
Q. Do you mean to say that men should leave their fingers and feet unclean?
A. No, not at all. I don’t mean them to remain dirty, but cleanliness not at the cost of being manly. They should not exhibit feminine qualities.
Q. Would he be very good looking?
A. I cannot stand good-looking men.
Q. Then?
A. He has to be someone who is robust and has a manly appearance.
Q. A man with brain or brawn?
A. A man with brain would be my choice.
Q. Would he need to be rich?
A. See, I prefer a man to excel in earning and leave the spending to me (laughs).
Hrithik Roshan’s career graph shows that the actor has chosen his films wisely but he says he has no calculated plan as to how to climb the ladder of success. He doesn’t plan that he will do a certain kind of film after the other. He instinctly jump at films his heart says yes to. So he did Koi Mil Gaya which was completely different from Krishh which was completely different from Dhoom 2 and now Jodhaa Akbar. Each film helps him bounce out into another and I like doing that. It’s fun.
The Patel home in Peddar Road is still in sadness. Three years ago, actress Amisha Patel walked out on her parents Asha and Amit Patel after accusing them of mismanaging her funds. The Patels, however, blamed the man in Amisha’s life, filmmaker Vikram Bhatt, for turning her against them. Much dirty linen was laundered in public. And the Patel family crumbled and separated. Amisha and Vikram having parted ways, there is talk that the Patels may welcome back their estranged daughter. Is there hope for reconciliation? Her distraught mother reports that or the first time in years, Amisha texted her brother Ashmit on his birthday last Sunday. It must have been gnawing her and she is making a silent effort. The absence of Vikram in her life is a positive sign for us. She believes he wasn’t ready to commit to Amisha because his daughter disapproves of their relationship. Didn’t he think of this when he got involved said by Amisha’s mother Asha. She also told that the family has heard of the new man, Delhi-based businessman Kanaav Puri, in Amisha’s life, and is happy for her. The parents, naturally, have forgiven her the past, but are unwilling to comment what road their relationship will now take. But they need to time to forget all the things. They waited so long, let them wait for a little more time for everything to settle down.

“Maze karo Shahid” suggests by director of Kismet Konnection Aziz Mirza

Shahid Kapoor says he had great fun shooting for Kismet Konnection but admits that he was nervous about working with director Aziz Mirza. Shahid gushes that Aziz uncle is 65 and he is 26, he was wondering how they will connect. But amazingly, he’s so young for his age. He remembers one day, the film they had shot on turned bad and they had to re-shoot it. Aziz uncle’s son and he were really stressed and thinking how to re-schedule it and Aziz uncle walked in eating something. He patted them on the back and said that its okay yaar, they’re just making a film, have fun while doing it, maze karo!’ That’s why his films are so good and so breezy.Seems like this director-actor ‘connection’ will surely work wonders for their ‘kismet’!
Emraan and Parveen had been going around for almost five years before they tied the knot. The marriage hit troubled waters when Parveen, who is a school teacher, recently got to know about Emraan’s close relationship with a Pakistani girl, Sanaa. Parveen was particularly upset when she learnt that Emraan and the new woman in his life had spent some private moments in Cape Town. Sanaa’s parents promptly called Emraan’s uncle Mahesh Bhatt and informed him about his nephew’s secret liaison. Mahesh intervened and summoned Emraan to his Juhu office one afternoon recently. The filmmaker tried explaining to Emraan that he was not doing the right thing. The conversation, which started off as a discussion, gradually snowballed into a heated argument and then a big showdown.
Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, Preity Zinta...all are attacked by cricket glamour
Posted On 7:52 AM by Movies | 0 comments
The so called gentleman’s game cricket will bask in the glory of showbiz. And add to it the power of corporate India and star players like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Ricky Ponting, Kumar Sangakkara, Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath. Voila. Cricket never looked so rich and so very glamourous before. Millions of dollars were forked out at an auction of city franchises of the Indian Premier League (IPL) — the BCCI’S Twenty20 championship. And this will recreate the magic of soccer’s English Premier League and basketball’s NBA championship. Millions ruled the bidding as Mukesh Ambani got hold of Mumbai by shelling out $111.9 million and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan alongwith actress Juhi Chawla and her husband Jai Mehta had the Kolkata team. Adding another slice of entertainment to cricket, Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia together with Karan Paul and Mohit Burman bid Mohali for $75 million.

Rajavannem Reddy is directing the movie being produced by Koganti Ramakrishna.
Accroding to Ashutosh “Ash and Hrithik were very professional”
Posted On 7:28 AM by Movies | 0 comments
The man is intrigued by India, or so it seems, what with films like Lagaan , Swades and now the much celebrated romance of Jodhaa Akbar forming his spectrum of victories. He is consciously that Indian by heart. He thinks the patriotism comes to each of us naturally. He finds Lagaan patriotic, while Swades was nationalistic. And now Jodhaa Akbar belongs to another genre of Indianness altogether.Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai were the most obvious choices to play the title roles, we are informed. The lead actors were chosen largely because of their physical persona combined by acting talent. Akbar was a warrior. He needed someone with the physique; also he needed an actor who would look regal without trying hard. Hrithik is a tremendous actor and can adapt himself physically to a character very well. This he noticed in Koi Mil Gaya , while he was impressed with Aishwarya in Chokher Bali , where she was bereft of any external embellishments that explains by Ashutosh. There was no problem between Ash and Hrithik. Once Ash returned to shoot, it was as normal as it had always been. Both actors were very professional.
Celina's lung infection after long traveling around the world

After traveling around the world, Celina Jaitley has finally touched base in Mumbai, but not without having her share of problem. Last year she had a packed schedule, she was virtually shooting back to back for her movies in India as well abroad. She had no time to even breathe, it was that bad that she says sitting pretty at her posh duplex flat sipping black tea. And that's when stress and over work struck her and she was down with a severe lung infection. Her condition was very bad, but due to work pressure She couldn't get herself admitted in a hospital. She just continued shooting for her film. She was shooting for Money Money Hai Toh Honey Hai in Mauritius with Chi Chi Bhaiya, when she was diagnosed with lung infection and the doctors told me to get admitted to a hospital. But she didn't want her producers to suffer so she continued shooting in that condition. She was shivering with weakness and after every take her spot boy would come and hold her , but she didn't let her illness hamper her work, that she says.
Priyanka Chopra decided to work with Madhur Bhandarkar, a man known for his different kind of cinema, in his forthcoming film called Fashion. Now according to our sources, she has been approached for a woman oriented film. The film of whose script is complete will be directed by Superstar director Rohit Jugraj. Director says that, it is a female bonding film but will not be hard-hitting like Daman and other such similar films. It is a modern tale of two women and is based on their friendship.Rohit doesn’t want to comment on ther umours of Priyanka Chopra having been approached to play one of the leading roles. He sums up by saying, a lot of women in Bollywood have issues with some other actress or the other so that is making it difficult. And ironically it’s a film on ‘female bonding’.
Chhote Nawab Saif Ali does not dance for thesong from Jab We Met
Posted On 7:25 AM by Movies | 0 comments
Chhote Nawab Saif Ali has said that his relationship with Bollywood hottie Kareena Kapoor can only be pushed so far. Chhote Nawab said that don’t ask him why he didn’t dance with her for that song from Jab We Met at a recent awards function. He refused, because it wasn’t his song ,it is Kareena’s earlier love, Shahid Kapoor’s song,, and he don’t want his relationship with Kareena being exploited in a way he feels . He personally have nothing against anyone.About his relationship with her, Saif dismissed stories that a possessive Kareena had objected to the sizzling scenes being aired on television between Bipasha Basu and him from Abbas-Mustan’s Race. He doesn’t think they’re excessively steamy. And, Kareena and he don’t interfere in each others’ work. For him, more exciting than the love scenes are the stunts he has performed for Race that he said.
As usual she is hot, happening & sizzling. Bipasha Basu has never looked fitter. But looks like the actress is in no mood to show off her curves anytime son. The last time she was spotted on screen wearing a hot number, was in Dhoom 2. But Bips doesn’t want to wear a bikini on screen.Bipasha said that she can’t be wearing a bikini in every film. Wearing a bikini is too tiring. Every inch of has to be fit. When are to do any such scene, can’t think about acting, you have to only think about being absolutely fit. She can’t go through that process again. Now, she is going to wear a bikini only for her holidays, not on screen. It’s too much of an effort to wear a bikini on screen.
Deepika Padukone could not able to keep in touch with mentor Farah Khan and that has caused some trouble for the newcomer. She is busy in shooting for her future ventures seems to have forgotten to keep in touch with the director of her debut film. Poor girl, hope she doesn’t lose out on some plum projects because of overlooking this minute detail. After all this is the ways of Bollywood.
Father-in-law Bachchan to promote bahu Aishwarya’s film like his own!!!!!!
Posted On 7:20 AM by Movies | 0 comments
This is true. Our lovable filmi Shahenshah, Amitabh Bachchan believes in promoting another. It’s not like he’s suddenly pushing Shah Rukh Khan, but on a more serious note, Bachchan is actually helping push and promote the music of Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodhaa Akbar, only because he’s taken such a tremendous liking to it. When he was shooting in Kulu Manali for Shoojit Sarcar’s film, he heard that the music of Jodhaa Akbar had released in the hill station a few days ago. So he went out to buy the music in bulk to gift to his unit, simply because he loved it so much himself. He visited about five to six stores but was disappointed because the album was sold out in all these stores. He then called Ashutosh’s office and actually requested him to send more stock of the music to the Kulu Manali stores; as well as send him some stock and bill him for the same, so that he could gift his unit as planned. But one must say that it was so sweet for father-in-law Bachchan to promote bahu Aishwarya’s film like his own.
Mr Bachchan took a brisk walk during the snowfall at Sleet Street
Posted On 7:17 AM by Movies | 0 comments
Big B is enjoying the cold wave as it keeps curious onlookers indoors and he can roam freely without being mobbed. Consequently, Shoojit Sarcar’s crew is breathing a sigh of relief as the shooting schedule remains unaffected. While other stars run for shelter, Big B is braving the elements and even going for brisk walks. Bachchan reached Manali by road from Chandigarh as his private jet couldn’t land at Kullu due to severe weather conditions. On a more romantic note, the actor who had shot other films including Black in Manali and Simla, has never experienced snowfall in the hill resorts before. Bundled up in warm clothes, he took advantage of the deserted location recently to walk around freely. A crew member informs that recently, it started snowing heavily as they were shooting. They had to pack-up and most of us ran for shelter. But Mr Bachchan was far from being worried. He took a brisk walk during the snowfall instead. In fact, he has been encouraging fellow cast and crew members to enjoy the weather. The superstar Amitabh also shot a few scenes at the Snow and Avalanche Study Establishment (SASE) in Manali. The study centre was converted into a hospital for the film where Bachchan, as a part of the plot, is admitted with acute foot injuries caused by his footwear.
